r C. Maxima. This heirloom squash has a grey-green smooth skin with dark orange flesh that is tasty and sweet and weighs between 8-14 lbs. Crown squash originated in New Zealand and almost became extinct. Here at Azure Farms, we grew Crown squash seed from several places for 3 years before we were able to get a pure seed. It’s not easy finding pure seed of this variety. We are happy to be able to offer these seeds to you after trying so hard to keep this variety alive! We feel this is the best keeper of all the squash we’ve grown, plus it tastes amazing!
